北京—美国著名艺术大师、豪瑟沃斯画廊代理艺术家保罗·麦卡锡的个展「无辜」目前正在北京木木美术馆展出。“无辜”与有关“无辜的缺失”的叙述密不可分。本次展览的标题描述了麦卡锡的艺术实践中那种不断探索的精神状态。43件由麦卡锡及其合作者创作于1970年至2013年的录像作品,首次面向中国观众展出。 在长达五十年的艺术生涯里,麦卡锡对我们所熟知的各种媒介均有涉猎,无论是绘画、雕塑、表演、影像、故事片还是最新的虚拟现实技术,其间尤其值得提及的是他对录像自始至终的运用。作为其行为表演的主要载体,录像对麦卡锡有着核心性的意义,也是其此后更为丰富的创作形式的源头。从他早期的黑白影像行为纪录《将颜料甩向墙和窗》(1974年)到长达七小时的史诗性作品《白雪公主》(2013年),麦卡锡的创作轨迹同时见证了影像艺术的生产及传播演进史。也正因如此,在本次木木美术馆的展览中,艺术家选择以录像反映其创作全貌:43件由麦卡锡及其合作者创作于1970年至2013年的录像作品将首次面向中国观众展出。 “无辜”与有关“无辜的缺失”的叙述密不可分。本次展览的标题描述了麦卡锡的艺术实践中那种不断探索的精神状态。木木美术馆与艺术家及其工作室团队紧密合作,共同策划和设计了本次展览。在展览期间,观众从后门进入,随即被整个美术馆内癫狂错乱的世界所包围。这一全新的空间设定暗合了麦卡锡对社会常规的颠覆。鉴于某些内容的特殊性,本次展览只对18岁以上的观众开放。观众入场时请出示身份证。 生于1945年的麦卡锡不仅是洛杉矶艺术圈的常青树,也对全世界范围内的众多艺术家都有着深远的影响。他充满实验精神的艺术实践审视着传统艺术表达的缺失之处,对当代文化,尤其是充斥在美国日常生活中的消费主义和主流媒体价值观的黑暗面进行着曝光。 保罗·麦卡锡 「无辜:录像作品 1970-2013」 木木美术馆,中国北京 2018年3月17日 – 6月17日
