LOS ANGELES—Shulamit Nazarian will host a conversation with artist Fay Ray and César García, Founding Executive & Artistic Director of The Mistake Room on May 19th. The talk will address major themes in Ray’s current exhibition, I AM THE HOUSE, as well as her continued interest in the fetishization of objects and the construction of female identity through monochromatic photomontages and suspended metallic sculptures.
Fay Ray (b. 1978, Riverside, CA) received her BFA from Otis College of Art and Design in 2002, and her MFA from Columbia University in 2005.
