MADSAKI:假如我有一个梦
香港讯——周星驰2004年的动作喜剧“功夫”(Kung Fu Hustle),与及安迪•沃荷1965年的地下电影“My Hustler”,两人英文戏名相近却不相干。不过,这两部作品并列在MADSAKI的最新展览。两套截然不同的电影,成了重要的引旨,协助观者解开MADSAKI作品背后的两大概念:对经典的崇拜,以及变古易常。 这次展出的作品,灵感大多来自安迪•沃荷以及香港电影的经典剧照,例如“功夫”和王家卫的“花样年华”.MADSAKI深谙易之道,对着擅于复制与转化的安迪•沃荷,两者似曾相识.MADSAKI曾模仿西方艺术史的大师,现在重塑沃的“花”,“头骨”,“枪”,“美元符号“和”布瑞洛盒“,更体贴入妙。沃荷也是仿效各种实物加以创作,借此显示意象非一成不变,应如货币般流转;他相信精髓在细节之中,比如创作手法的变幻莫测以及基本主题的发挥。沃荷完成32幅金宝汤画作后,得出的结论是:事物表面可以一模一样,但底蕴却大相径庭。 MADSAKI的沃荷系列,保留了沃荷作品的基本构图,颜色和大小,却在绘画手法,色调和情感方面另辟蹊径。两人的主要分别在于创作媒介:沃荷使用丝网印刷,MADSAKI则使用喷漆.MADSAKI解释说:“用喷漆来传递丝网印刷所表达的东西,真的很困难。我唯有以自己的方式去做。”虽是喷漆能手,MADSAKI坦承自己使用喷漆的方法「完全错误」 ,把喷嘴当成画笔,有别于一般涂鸦或街头艺术。正因为这种喷漆技巧,MADSAKI的创作更随性偶发,可大幅或点滴运用色彩,加强了作品的质感,氛围和感染力。 这种效果于MADSAKI映照沃荷“双面猫王”(1963年)和“最后的晚餐(大C)”(1986年)的作品可见。沃荷在“双面猫王”也使用喷漆制造银色背景,但MADSAKI的色彩更厚实,近于印象主义,能把猫王的双重身影融入整体构图,令作品更哀怨动人。“最后的晚餐(大C)”是沃荷的压轴作品,全以人手绘画,回到与尚•米榭•巴斯奇亚合作时所带出的创作模式。近期有人指出这是沃荷最内向伤感的作品之一,充满他对自身天主教信仰和爱滋病日益肆虐的复杂感觉。(1986年,爱滋病仍被人误认为“同性恋癌症”,而癌症又婉称「大C」。)事隔30多年,MADSAKI对应的个人和文化问题虽然完全不同,能够可卡突显沃荷表达的苦难和救赎.MADSAKI把基督直垂目光,转换成其标志性的「黑色眼泪哈哈笑」,令作品较原来更叛逆,同时也更哀伤。意想不到的是,MADSAKI的许改动,竟把沃荷的构图推向电影“功夫”的调子。由此可见,只要适当运用,易的艺术实可通往开悟之门。 -Mark Loiacono 继巴黎和首尔的展览后,贝浩登很荣幸为日本艺术家MADSAKI在香港举办首次个展。是次展览汇聚他的新画作及装置艺术,并陈列三个系列作品:安迪•沃荷系列,电影系列及呈现流行卡通的人物系列.MADSAKI也特此制作一系列映照香港电影的画像,当中包括王家卫的经典电影“花样年华”和“重庆森林”,以及周星驰的“功夫”等。 MADSAKI 1974年生于日本大阪,于美国新泽西州长大,1996年毕业于纽约帕森设计学院。他的艺术创作及性格深受两地影响,作品一方面映照艺术历史,另一方面引述潮语,电影和漫画人物评论大众文化,于近期更走向抒发个人观感的路向.MADSAKI没曾参与街上涂鸦,却以喷漆为主要艺术媒介。他以展现艺术大师作品的「 W annabe“画作系列闻名,作品看似幽默风趣,但内里蕴藏艺术家百感交集的内心世界。 OPENING WEDNESDAY JULY 17, 6PM – … More
