上海—第12届上海双年展将于2018年11月10日至2019年3月10日在上海当代艺术博物馆举办。经过上海当代艺术博物馆学术委员会的广泛推荐和慎重评选,上海市文化广播影视管理局同意,夸特莫克·梅迪纳(Cuauhtémoc Medina)将担任第12届上海双年展主策展人。第12届上海双年展主题将于今年年底公布。 出生于墨西哥,夸特莫克·梅迪纳是活跃于国际艺术界的策展人、评论家和艺术史学家。他曾长期工作于欧洲,现为墨西哥国立自治大学当代艺术博物馆(Museo Universitario Arte Contemporáneo)的首席策展人。 上海当代艺术博物馆学术委员会认为,梅迪纳深厚的策展经验,以及人文历史学识,尤其对拉美当代艺术的广泛研究,必将为上海双年展带来新鲜的视角。在世界政治、经济、文化迅速变化,社会面临巨大挑战的当口,上海双年展将再次触及最为关键的问题——艺术将如何继续制造意义?学术委员会轮值主席费大为表示:“梅迪纳对展览构架陈述非常清晰。他试图打破大型国际双年展的主题性和‘同一性’,让双年展呈现出变化和断裂。这将是一个有难度的展览,也可能是一个有意思的,层次非常丰富的展览。” 谈及第12届上海双年展,梅迪纳表示:“作为大型展览,双年展除了以独特的角度挖掘当今艺术和文化的潜能,也应将展览所在的城市塑造为世界艺术发生的先锋场域。上海是最合适双年展发生的地方,因为这座城市的快速发展不仅可以清晰地反映出当前全球文化叙事的去中心化,更能凸显中国和亚洲在现今全球文化和经济领域中的重要地位。随着我们步入新的全球史时代,在今后的数年内,上海双年展必将成为重新思考和讨论地缘关系和当代艺术的重要平台之一。我希望与来自中国和世界的伙伴一同协作,促进文化生产的不断发展,将复杂的个体融入时代纵横交错的肌理之中。” 作为主办机构,上海当代艺术博物馆将在学术研究、品牌推广和行政管理方面做出崭新的尝试。第12届上海双年展将迎来两位新的管理人员:施瀚涛(双年展项目总协调)、贺欢欢(双年展项目行政总监)。他们将与主策展人以及策展团队一起,打造新一届非凡的上海双年展。 第12届上海双年展主策展人 夸特莫克·梅迪纳(Cuauhtémoc Medina),1965年12月5日生于墨西哥。策展人、评论家和艺术史学家。拥有墨西哥国立自治大学(UNAM, Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México)历史学学士学位,以及英国埃塞克斯大学(University of Essex)艺术史及艺术理论博士学位。 1993年起任教于墨西哥国立自治大学,并担任其艺术研究所全职研究员。2002年至2008年间担任伦敦泰特美术馆(Tate … More
