“The Brooklyn Museum has been leading the field of museum education since 1990, when we first developed our Museum Education Internship Program. We re-classified this program as a Fellowship in recognition of its rigor and impact across the field.

We aim to nurture the next generation of museum educators by promoting greater inclusion of diverse perspectives, which are essential for the re-imagining of museums in the twenty-first century,” said Adjoa Jones de Almeida, Director of Education.

Program alumni have pursued careers at such cultural institutions as the Denver Art Museum; Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art, Qatar; Metropolitan Museum of Art; National Museum of the American Indian; New Museum; and Queens Museum of Art, as well as the New York City Department of Education and the School District of Philadelphia. Major support for the Museum Education Fellowship Program is provided by the Robert Lehman Foundation.
