Since 2010, the UCLA Mindful Awareness Research Center has been holding a weekly meditation at the Hammer on Thursdays at 12:30 p.m. For the next few months, these meditations will be held weekly via Zoom. Our hope is that mindfulness can be a refuge for you in challenging times.
As always, the audio recording will also be posted on the UCLA MARC website and UCLA Mindful app.
Mindful Awareness Meditation is the moment-by-moment process of actively and openly observing one’s physical, mental, and emotional experiences. Mindfulness has scientific support as a means to reduce stress, improve attention, boost the immune system, reduce emotional reactivity, and promote a general sense of health and well-being.
The free weekly drop-in sessions take place in the comfortable seats of the Billy Wilder Theater and are open to all who are interested in learning how to live more presently in life. No special clothing is required, and participants are welcome to stay for 5 minutes or enjoy the entire 30-minute session.
Sessions are led by Diana Winston and other instructors from the UCLA Mindful Awareness Research Center. Visit www.marc.ucla.edu to learn more about the UCLA Mindful Awareness Research Center.
