BERLIN—After Paris in April at Forum des images, Centre Pompidou and further venues, the Rencontres Internationales will be held in Berlin from June 19 to 24 2018, at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt. Throughout 6 days of free access, a space for discovery and sharing focused on moving image contemporary practices will be available to all.
Crossing new cinema and contemporary art, this unique platform in Europe provides a rare opening on contemporary audiovisual practices. Documentary approaches, experimental fictions, videos, hybrid forms: the programme of Rencontres Internationales is the result of a thorough research and of invitations to some artists, personalities from cinema and the contemporary art fields.
In the presence of artists and filmmakers from all over the world, you will attend indoor screenings – premieres, cartes blanches, special events, video focus -, performances and a forum led by artists, directors of art centres and museums, curators and distributors who will share with the audience their experience and views on new audiovisual practices.
Contemporary visual culture holds the convergence between the aesthetic, social and political issues and adapts to the continuing development of production and dissemination technologies. Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin offers a future-oriented way of observing these practices.
